SpanishEnglishDiscography - Hey You Loca - 7. Pare cochero
Taken as a group these first six tracks are one of the most satisfying musical experiences of the whole Timba genre. To then hear the seventh track, "Pare Cochero", can be a shock to the system! It's pure unadulterated traditional Charanga, such as the group played in Europe in its early years. Calzado has included several of these tributes to the past in CH's recordings and in concert they nearly always plays at least one. "Pare Cochero" is one of the definitive and most frequently recorded traditional Charanga tracks and this version is performed flawlessly and with energy, but placing it right in the middle of the album like this doesn't work for us and we usually re-program the CD to put this at the end of the disc with the album's other traditional number, "Presente y Pasado".
