Cuba based rap duo, Zona Franka, blends traditional rhythms with the grit and swagger of hip-hop and rap vocal phrasings. Their clever shout choruses create instant tropical dance classics using their unique self-titled "changui con flow" style.

Telmary Díaz

Telmary Díaz is one of the Cuba's best hip hop artists.  Her style is a fusion of many influences combining hip hop with Afro-Cuban folkoric and dance music, funk, Afro-Beat, dance hall, raggae and jazz.  Telmary's lyrics usually are socially conscious including issues related to women, society and every day life in Cuba.   Her delivery can be speed raps or slower less aggressive raps, she descibes that she does not want to just mimic male hip hop artists.  Telmary perfomrs with a full band with vocalists singing coros and doing dance routines.

Yissy García

Yissy García is one of the best young drum set players from Cuba.  Her drumming was a perfect match for Telmary's music.  Yissy is a band leader as well as a long time member of the all woman Maqueque led by Jane Bunnett.

Here's are two videos of songs in various styles:

Juan Vidaurre

Juan Vidaurre played keyboards and some guitar.  Juan is originally from Caracas, Venezuela.
