Telmary Díaz
Telmary Díaz is one of the Cuba's best hip hop artists. Her style is a fusion of many influences combining hip hop with Afro-Cuban folkoric and dance music, funk, Afro-Beat, dance hall, raggae and jazz. Telmary's lyrics usually are socially conscious including issues related to women, society and every day life in Cuba. Her delivery can be speed raps or slower less aggressive raps, she descibes that she does not want to just mimic male hip hop artists. Telmary perfomrs with a full band with vocalists singing coros and doing dance routines.
Yissy García
Yissy García is one of the best young drum set players from Cuba. Her drumming was a perfect match for Telmary's music. Yissy is a band leader as well as a long time member of the all woman Maqueque led by Jane Bunnett.
