Only coverered four groups for the Friday line-up - Brian Andres Quartet featuring Sandra Aran, Jazz Mafia, Isaiah Sharkey and Joel Ross.

Brian Adnres Quartet played a great set of Latin Jazz some songs as a quartet and some with the dynamic vocalist Sandra Aran.  This band is an all star Bay Area group where all the members are very active in their own and other projects.

Brian Andres is a very active Bay Area musicain who plays in numerous jazz and salsa groups.

Aaron Germain is also very active in the Bay Area music scene who plays many types of music.

Chsritain Tumalán plays piano in this group, is the co-leader of the Grammy Award winning Pacific Mambo Orchestra and plays with other bands.

Tont Peebles is a member of the Pacific Mambo Orchestra and is involved and aive in many other projects.

Sandra Aran was born and raised in Mexico City and has been involved in music since the ago of 5.  In 1999 while attending the Superior School of Music in Mexico City she received a scholarhsip to attend the Berkely School of Music in Boston, recceiving a degree in vocal performance.  She has been musically active in both Boston and the Bay Area.  Sandra is an exciting vocalist  and an energtic and engaging performer.

Next up for me was a Bay Are group The Jazz Mafia which performed a high energy New Orleans influenced set of music.  I did not obtain any of the musicains' names except for the leader Adam Theis  This band is based in the Bay Area.

Adam Theis is the leader of The Jazz Mafia and has numerous other eclectic projects.  He plays virtually any instrument and in this band he plays trombone.

Isaiah Sharkey's Group was the next group I covered.  Isaiah is a guitarist who played soulful covers of popular songs.  He is originally from Chicago and has played with soime high profile blues and soul musicians including D'Angelo.

The last group for Friday was the highlight of the night and one of the highlight's of the festival - young vibist Joel Ross , who is a great composer, arranger and musician - a true master with his own unique style.  He is only 26 years olf, originally from Chicago and is already master musician and one of my personal favorite musicains.
