Carlos Miyares Concert Dedicated to Irakere

Carlos Miyares

ENGLISH:  This writer has heard many tributes to Irakere over the years, but this may be his favorite.  It was not an attempt to replicate Irakere note for note, but it succeeded in capturing much of the original energy. Led by saxophonist Carlos Miyares, the roster included Germán Velazco, Alexander Abreu, Harold López-Nussa, Adel González, Yaroldi Abreu, Rafael Paseiro, Maikel González, Mandy Cantero and others. The song list included many of Irakere's popular favorites such as Bacalao con Pan and Ese Atrevimiento, Lo Que Va a Pasar;  and Mandy Cantero's vocals would have fit it perfectly well with the original Irakere.  Most of the musicians including Carlos Miyares have worked with Chucho Valdés at some point in their careers. 


ESPAÑOL: Este escritor ha escuchado muchos tributos a Irakere a lo largo de los años, pero este puede ser su favorito. No fue un intento de replicar Irakere nota por nota, pero logró capturar gran parte de la energía original.  Dirigido por el saxofonista Carlos Miyares, la lista de músicos incluía a Germán Velazco, Alexander Abreu, Harold López-Nussa, Adel González, Yaroldi Abreu, Rafael Paseiro , Maikel González, Mandy Cantero y otros. La lista de canciones incluía varios de los éxitos populares de Irakere como Bacalao con Pan, Ese Atrevimiento y Lo Que Va a Pasar; y la voz de Mandy Cantero habría encajado perfectamente con el Irakere original. La mayoría de los músicos incluyendo a Carlos Miyares han trabajado con Chucho Valdés en algún momento de sus carreras.
