ENGLISH: Emilio Frás "El Niño" y La Verdad are currently touring Europe promoting their third album: "De Vuelta Al Barrio". Tomorrow they will be at New Morning in Paris. The album is, in my opinion the best yet, which is saying a lot since the two previous albums are excellent and La Verdad won at Cubadisco with their debut album "Llegó La Verdad".

"De Vuelta Al Barrio" is a feast for dancers. It satiates our appetite with fantastic arrangements that really show the maturity of this young group. I confess that I am not a fan of chachachá, but lo and behold if "Cha Pa' Mi Muchacha" isn't one of the songs I keep coming back to! Well played Emilio, Pachy Jr. and Dayron! 2018 is turning out to be a major year for timba releases, so this album is also in the queue for a review. We will get it up as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you can't make a concert, word is that the digital album will be released at the usual retailers tomorrow, May 10th. Below is a taste of one of the songs from the album: "La Cosa Mala". The official video for this song will be out soon as well.

El álbum es, en mi opinión, el mejor hasta ahora, lo cual es mucho decir ya que los dos álbumes anteriores son excelentes y La Verdad ganó en Cubadisco con su álbum debut "Llegó La Verdad".

"De Vuelta Al Barrio" es una fiesta para los bailadores. Satisface nuestro apetito con fantásticos arreglos que realmente muestran la madurez de este joven grupo. Confieso que no soy fan de chachachá, pero he aquí que "Cha Pa 'Mi Muchacha" es una de las canciones a las que vuelvo. ¡Buena jugada Emilio, Pachy Jr. y Dayron! 2018 se está convirtiendo en un año importante para lanzamientos de discos de timba, por lo que este álbum también está en la cola para su reseña. Lo publicaremos lo más pronto posible. Mientras tanto, si no puedes asistir a un concierto, se dice que el álbum digital se lanzará en las tiendas habituales mañana, 10 de mayo. JG - Hasta Que Salga El Sol

ENGLISH: Juan Guillermo Almeida - or just JG - has released his third album "Hasta Que Salga El Sol" internationally on the Unicornio label. It is now available at Cubamusic.com. The single "Belleza latina" featuring Alexander Abreu has been a hit for a year. Other collaborations on the new CD include Michel Gonzales and Adalberto Álvarez on "Ella siempre se va sola", Maikel Dinza who composed and sings on "La Habana la enganchó", Emilio Frias on "La cosa", and El Mola on "La fama pa' la cabeza". ESPAÑOL: Juan Guillermo Almeida - o simplemente JG - lanzó su tercer álbum "Hasta Que Salga El Sol" a nivel internacional bajo el sello discográfico Unicornio. Ahora está disponible en Cubamusic.com. El sencillo "Belleza latina" con Alexander Abreu ha sido un éxito ya hace un año. Maykel Blanco y Su Salsa Mayor 2018

ENGLISH: "Somos Mayores" the CD/DVD from the 12th Anniversary concert of Maykel Blanco y Su Salsa Mayor will soon be released to the international market. It is currently only available in Cuba. The concert was a collaboration with the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra and consists of 10 tracks, including the intro and a choreography section in the middle. The combination of the music Salsa Mayor and the Symphony Orchestra works beautifully, it never feels forced, and considering the Cuban tradition of charangas, the inclusion of strings in the arrangements is completely natural and extremely danceable. When it is released I suspect we will only be able to get the audio part. It is very hard nowadays to get a hardcopy outside Cuba and the digital retailers don't seem to be selling the video files. But we'll just have to see. Maykel Blanco y Su Salsa Mayor will be touring South America at the end of April and in the fall they will be in Europe. Hopefully they will bring the hardcopy with them, so take some cash with you if you attend a concert.

ESPAÑOL: "Somos Mayores" el CD / DVD del concierto del 12 ° Aniversario de Maykel Blanco y Su Salsa Mayor pronto será lanzado al mercado internacional. Actualmente solo está disponible en Cuba. El concierto fue una colaboración con la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba y consta de 10 pistas, incluida la introducción y una sección de coreografía en el medio. ENGLISH: The reknowned Cuban orchestra Adalberto Álvarez y Su Son are currently touring Europe and we took the opportunity to talk with pianist and Adalberto's right-hand, Dorgeris Álvarez about the tour, the new CD "De Cuba Pa'l Mundo Entero", upcoming events and also about her life growing up in a family of famous soneros where she took on the role of pianist for her father's band at the age of 16.
