1, " Best Folk Album" usually isn't the first place we looking for these things, but one of the Best Latin Jazz nominees, Chuchito Valdés, was also nominated for Best Folk Album ("Piano & Charango" by Chuchito Valdés & Eddy Navia)
2, Those who live near Lincolnshire, Illinois (close to Chicago) should know that Arturo Sandoval is coming into the Viper Alley there to perform live on October 5, 2012. See http://www.viper-alley.com/ for more information.

Alaín Pérez and Arturo Sandoval

Alaín is indeed on bass and voice in El Comando de la Clave and is very much worth hearing. A couple of adds for Arturo: He's also up for Producer of the Year for "Dear Diz", and his Tango album, "Tango Como Yo Te Siento", is up for Best Tango Album.

As Mike said, BUENA SUERTE!
