ENGLISH: Lo prometido es deuda and finally I have published my review of the new release by "JG" Juan Guillermo.In this age of attention spans the length of a Twitter post, I will give a quick sumation here for those who don't have the stamina to read the full review. With his third album JG has established his trademark as el dueño del party with ten fun, upbeat dance tracks. The musicianship is excellent and the arrangements include five very good 100% timba tracks as well as five tropical-timba fusions with a fresh and broad appeal. Este pasado 20 de Mayo en Los Ángeles -- en un festival titlulado Cuban-American Music Festival y localizado en LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes --  muchos amantes de la música latina y cubana fueron testigos del nacimiento de una nueva agrupación timbera aquí en los EE.UU: CALIXTO OVIEDO y su TIMBA L.A. Como saben, Calixto Oviedo Mulens fue el baterista del grupo íconico NG La Banda durante el perido en que porducieron sus más grandes éxitos, incluyendo Santa Palabra, Échale Limón, y El Trágico.

Calixto nos explica: "Hola Michael. Este proyecto, aunque lo tenia en mente hace tiempo, no fue hasta ahora que el organizador del evento Guido Herrera (KXLU 88.9 FM - Alma del barrio) me pidio hacerle un homenaje a NG La Banda, producto de ser cofundador de la misma, como uno de los factores principales a la elaboración de la timba con todo lo que aporté etc. Nada lo demas es historia que conoces. Aquí te presento a los músicos de mi nueva agrupación y nuestras próximas fechas. Le envío un gran saludo a todos los leyentes y seguidores de TIMBA.com".

This project, although I had it in mind for some time, it was not until now that the organizer of the event, Guido Herrera (KXLU 88.9 FM - Alma del barrio) asked me to pay homage to NG La Banda, as I was one of the co-founders and one of the main factors in the development of the timba, with everything I contributed, etc. I want to present to you the musicians of my new group and our upcoming dates.
