If you own both albums by Tiempo Libre and have noticed a huge difference between "Timbiando" and "Arroz con mango" when it comes to groove and overall sound, a good part of that can be contributed to the introduction of bassist Tony Fonte for the second album. He's got chops on par with the best of the timba bassists, and he's a promising songwriter, as well -- the tune "Lengua Larga" (on "Arroz con mango") is his, and it's a hard-hitting arrangement with lyrics about a chronic liar whose vice is catching up with him.
