Chucho returns to SFJAZZ on March 16 for two shows with the great jazz saxophonist Joe Lovano.
El Niño y la Verdad at SF SalsaRueda
Thurs. Feb. 14 through Sunday Feb. 17
The annual SFSalsaRueda Festival is back with the West Coast premiere of one of the most exciting bands in Cuba - El Niño y la Verdad, a 16-piece band following in the long line of Revé spinoffs that includes Van Van, Ritmo Oriental and Dan Den. Bay Area fans will remember Emilio "El Niño" Frías from Revé's 2010 tour.

Chucho Valdés Lifetime Achievement Award from SFJAZZ
Chucho, Irakere, Omara Portuondo, Yosvany Terry, Harold López-Nussa, Jesús Díaz y su QBA, and many others will gather to celebrate the career of Chucho Valdés on Thursday, Jan. 31 at SFJAZZ.

2019 SFJAZZ Gala
SFJAZZ is pullng out all the stops for their 2019 Gala which will honor Chucho Valdés with a lifetime achievement award. The main event, which takes place on January 31, 2019, is a concert with some of the best names in jazz and Afro-Caribbean music including Chucho, Irakere 45, Chucho's children (daughter Leyanis Valdés and son Jesse Valdés), legendary vocalist Omara Portuondo, saxophonist and chékere master Yosvany Terry, Harold López-Nussa, vibraphone master Stefon Harris, famed vocalist Dianne Reeves, SFJAZZ Collective, and other special guests. An after party follows the main event with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans and Jesús Díaz y su QBA great Bay Area timba band performing.
