As you can see, tumbao 2, which accompanies Lilí Martínez' piano solo, uses the same rhythm as the first tumbao, but is only half as long. The MIDI example is one of several melodic variations Prieto plays on the same rhythm.

The bloque which transitions into the diablo marks the coro and clave, then repeats a 3-beat cross-rhythm 3 times, and then further ratchets up the rhythm tension by going into triplets.
