ENGLISH This very ambitious event will pull together what appears to be a mix of live video feeds and archival video footage including numerous Cuban musicans and other speakers in an impressive collaboration between several entities and individuals in the United States and Cuba. At press time some aspects of this event including the final participant list were still evolving, and for that reason, if you are in Facebook, we encourage you to follow the Hothouse Facebook page or the page of the Instituto Cubano de la Música (you should be following that page even without this concert) for more details as they develop. Hothouse is a Chicago-based organization, and this writer, who lives in Chicago, hopes for the maximum success of the event, especially if that inspires an increase in Chicago presenters and radio stations (especially the latter) proactively presenting current music from Cuba both live and on the air..

ENGLISH: Some time ago, we mentioned that Streamingcuba was running live music presentations and other musical content inclunding the presentation of new albums on their Facebook page. The frrequency and variety of these events has increased since then, and there are even frequent morning videos about the current situation regarding COVID-19 in Cuba. This is one of the best virtual vehicles for Cuba's music industry and its followers around the world in these difficult times. This writer would love nothing better than to see Cubadisco's live 2021 awards ceremonies available to the world using this or something similar to it.
ESPAÑOL: Recientemente, mencionamos que Streamingcuba estaba presentando música en vivo y otros contenidos musicales, incluida la presentación de nuevos álbumes, en su página de Facebook. La frecuencia y variedad de estos eventos ha aumentado desde entonces, e incluso hay videos frecuentes de la mañana sobre la situación actual con respecto a COVID-19 en Cuba. ENGLISH: This CD/DVD, an eloquent musical statement about the quality and scope of the current jazz of the younger generation in Cuba that uses 55 of its musicians, is currently only available as digitial audio outside of Cuba, but the music is so vital and its context so important that our review includes the Making Of Video AND a translation of the producer's notes into English. ESPAÑOL: Este CD / DVD, una elocuente declaración musical sobre la calidad y el alcance del jazz actual de la generación más joven en Cuba que utiliza a 55 de sus músicos, actualmente solo está disponible como audio digital fuera de Cuba, pero la música es tan vital y su contexto tan importante que nuestra reseña incluye el video Making Of y las notas de la productora. ENGLISH: This writer confesses to having been delinquent in publishing CD reviews of late due to a very significant expansion of his activities in radio (those activities are, however, at least presenting many of the same artists and their albums). After listening to Zule Guerra's new release, El Viaje, he was specially inspired to find a moment to write even though it is technically "out of turn", no small feat given the quantity of excellent albums issued during the past year. In time he hopes to return to all those who have been waiting very patiently for their opportunity.

ESPAÑOL: Este escritor confiesa haberse retrasado mucho en la publicación de reseñas de CD en los últimos tiempos debido a una expansión muy significativa de sus actividades en la radio (sin embargo, al menos tales actividades presentan muchos de los mismos artistas y sus álbumes). Después de escuchar el nuevo lanzamiento de Zule Guerra, El Viaje, se inspiró especialmente para encontrar un momento para escribir a pesar de que técnicamente está "fuera de turno", no es poca cosa dada la cantidad de excelentes álbumes emitidos durante el año pasado. Con el tiempo, espera volver con todos aquellos que han estado esperando pacientemente sus oportunidades.

ENGLISH: Sometimes good things emerge from bad times. A couple of months ago, we mentioned that Streamingcuba, a collaborative effort working with several entities in the music industry in Cuba, was bringing live miniature concerts and other events online via Facebook. It has also begun to significantly expand the use of Skype, and this writer had the pleasure of being one of many participants in a Skype presentation of several albums entered in Cubadisco.

ESPAÑOL: A veces surgen cosas buenas de los malos tiempos. Hace un par de meses, mencionamos que Streamingcuba, un esfuerzo de colaboración que trabaja con varias entidades en la industria de la música en Cuba, traía conciertos en miniatura en vivo y otros eventos en línea a través de Facebook. También ha comenzado a expandir significativamente el uso de Skype, y este escritor tuvo el placer de ser uno de los muchos participantes en una presentación via Skype de varios álbumes inscritos en Cubadisco.
