Cuba based rap duo, Zona Franka, blends traditional rhythms with the grit and swagger of hip-hop and rap vocal phrasings. Their clever shout choruses create instant tropical dance classics using their unique self-titled "changui con flow" style.

Somebody Slap Me

I'm starting to believe this is actually going to happen. I'll let you know when and if there are actual boots on the ground, but it's gotten as far as this cool site that counts down the days and hours:

Charanga Habanera in SF Countdown Site

Do I hear the distant rumblings of floodgates opening?

Of course, readers in Canada, Perú and Europe, must be rolling around laughing as they watch us poor yumas flailing around in agony and anticipation.

Laughing?

Naa, we arent laughing, were happy for you guys. Cuban bands touring your cities, a black president, *maybe* even a proper healthcare system.... it's all good.

But warning. The three-ring circus that is the current Charanga Habanera is (for better or for worse) SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the edition last seen in the USA, just prepare yourselves.

It is not recommended that people listen to 'Tremenda Delirio' or even 'Soy Cubano' before heading off to the concert. Better Gente de Zona and Los Salvajes.
