Cuba based rap duo, Zona Franka, blends traditional rhythms with the grit and swagger of hip-hop and rap vocal phrasings. Their clever shout choruses create instant tropical dance classics using their unique self-titled "changui con flow" style.

Ear ... Meet Hook

Off the Meathook with Klímax

With or without the autotune, I can't get these coros out of my head. Hat tip to Antonio in Oz for the heads up. And lots of Emilio Frías coming shortly - stay tuned.

Nice Track!

Most of the time, I fantasize about launching a massive nuclear strike against all purveyors of Autotune and its cousins, and then I remember that as children, my friends and I used to breathe in Helium from balloons and talk just to hear the weird, and holding that thought mellows me out a bit - maybe all of this is electronic Helium.
Klimax is one of my favorite Timba bands not because it is "pure", but precisely because it is not - it continues to incorporate different odds and ends in its music, and that's what Timba was all about in the first place. Some of the music police forget this from time to time...
