Magnus Almqvist - director, drum with timbal
Magnus studied at the Stockholm Music Conservatory from 1996-1999. Upon graduation he went to Havana where he studied percussion for a year at CNSEA. In 2002 he went to Argentina where he stayed for 8 months. He worked with a salsa/timba band in Argentina and when he returned to Sweden with the desire to form a band. When he got together with composer/arranger/keyboardist Johan Brolund, the band finally took shape. In addition to La Tremenda Magnus has worked with Juanes, Stockholm Soneros, Gilito y su clave, Calle Real and the batá group Obbara Iré.

Johan Brolund - Keyboard ,coros, arrangements
Johan Brolund has a wide musical background. A graduate of Södra Latin High School of Music, Johan continued his studies at the university level at ISA in Havana, Cuba where he studied saxophone, flute and percussion in 1998/99. In addition Johan is a composer, arranger, pianist/keyboardist, bassist and singer. His resume includes working with with Amadou Jarr and the Highlife Orchestra, the classical Cuban Son group "Estrellas de Chocolate", Stockholm Big Band as well as other Swedish Jazz/Instrumental groups. Johan has also written arrangements for Calixto Oviedo y la Recompensa.

After suffering an accident that permanently injured his wrist, Johan was forced to leave the saxophone and now primarily plays keyboard and works with arrangements and production. This experience was also the inspiration for La Tremenda's hit song "Lunes la semana completa", referring to starting from zero. Johan's varied background may be the source of his intricate arrangements that are the hallmark of La Tremenda's music.

Thomas Eby - coro, lead vocals
Thomas studied percussion in Havana, Cuba with various musicians as well as at CNSEA. With La Tremenda He plays minor percussion and sings coro and is lead vocalist on "Tu forma" from La Tremenda's début album. Thomas is also known for being the lead singer of Calle Real. In Sweden he is in demand as a percussionist and works with a variety of pop and other artists such as Thomas Gylling and Lena Philipsson, and has also recorded on the soundtrack for a documentary about Cuban music.

Olle Linder - Bass
Olle plays a number of stringed instruments such as bass, doublebass, guitar and mandola as well as drums and other percussion. He graduated from the music high school in 1992 and has worked with a great range of artists. He is fascinated with "groove" and this led to his interest in Latin music. He has visited Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina both as a student and just to experience the lifestyle and culture. His CV contains a fascinating mix of music styles from salsa to pop to Swedish folk music and Brazilian music. He has worked with Bebo Valdés, Ale Möller, Swedish pop singer Robyn, Swedish traditional singer Sofia Karlsson, Swedish folk band Ranarim and Brazilian singer Simone Moreno. He has also composed music for and participated in dance and theater performances in Stockholm.

Lesmer Solenzar - Lead vocals
Lesmer was born in Ciego de Avila, Cuba. He began singing at the age of 8 and at 15 he competed on the television show "Mi salsa" where he finished in the top ten soneros. He was quickly picked up by Andy Gola y Colé Colé. He toured outside Cuba with several groups before joining Klímax, the undisputed leader of sophisticated timba. He relocated to Sweden where he worked with various groups such as Soneros All Stars. He returned to Cuba where he started his own band El Tumbao, but was picked up by José Luis Cortes "El Tosco" and is currently singing with NG La Banda.

Linus Svanberg - Congas, percussion
Linus began his musical career at the age of 15 playing drums. IN high school he played percussion in jazz, soul and pop groups. Upon graduation he studied percussion for 3 years in Cuba at CNSA working with percussionist such as Papiosco and Changuito. His hard work paid off and he has won the respect of Cuban musicians and plays with many of the salsa groups in Sweden. With his gold tooth you might even mistake him for a Cuban. In addition to his work with La Tremenda he has played with Calixto Oviedo y La Recompensa, Soneros All Stars, Cubaniando and Swedish artists DJ Mendez, Dilba.

Gunnar Thullberg - piano
Gunnar is the pianist for La Tremenda. He has also studied music in Havana, Cuba. Gunnar has played with almost every salsa band in Sweden as well as a few other genres. He has worked with Calixto Oviedo, Gilito y su clave, Calle Real, Horace Korn and Hans Solo Super Orchestra. He is originally an accomplished guitarist who has also moved on to be a timba pianist.

Cezary Tomaszewski - Trombone
Cezary studied trombone at several music schools. Cezary has toured with many Swedish pop groups but his interest in Jazz, Latin and Soul led him to the world of salsa. He also plays with Calle Real and Florence Valentine.
