Osmil René Monzón Díaz was added to La Charanga in 1996 when David Calzado decided to expand the horn section by adding a lead trumpeter in 1996. Osmil was with David for very little time, only 2 years, because he left, along with the others, in 1998, to form Charanga Forever.
