In the great breakup of 1998, all of Charanga Habanera left David Calzado to form Charanga Forever, except Michel Maza . Mandy was brought in to replace Michel in Charanga Forever and recorded their first CD. He and Michel sang together with a later incarnation of La Forever, leading to the 2nd album. He was later handpicked along with another ex-Charanguero, Tirso Duarte , for Pupy Pedroso's exciting new group. Mandy is like a dictionary when it comes to material for his clever soneos. Currently he continues in Los Que Son Son, where his intense and towering stage presence is an intrinsic part of the show. [Kevin Moore, Lara Greene]
