José Miguel is one of Cuba's top timbaleros and also a singer/songwriter who has produced an album of original material. He played in the short-lived all-star group that Manolín assembled as his last hurrah in Cuba, but his most important contribution to Timba was Issac Delgado's "El año que viene", where he was part of a "dream team" rhythm section that featured Melón and Jimmy Branly.
