An audio cassette from the peak of Manolín-mania bounced around Havana  for 4 years until it made its way into the hands of a San Franciso tourist named Kevin Moore. Under the spell of this incredible era in Cuban music history, he mailed copies of the music he'd discovered to friends around the world, including Bruce Ishikawa, who registered the timba.com domain, and Ilán Greenfield, who was inspired to write, among many other insightful articles, Un tipo loco - a fascinating virtual concert report, including 15 audio excerpts. "Un tipo loco" is the name of a song from Aventura loca, and also an apt description for Manolín and both of his concert reviewers ...
