Issac Delgado's new CD - PROHIBIDO
by NICOLA CECCHI
Upon the celebration of fifteen years as an artist, Issac has offered a new CD recorded on the Lusafrica lable, that follows the line of dance music (salsa), to satisfy the dancing public who has been faithful to his music and to look for new possibilities in the international market.
This new CD refects the musical maturity achieved by Issac in his trayectoria, a product of his previous works with musicians from Cuban, Puerto Rica and other countries that play this genre.
Special attention was given to the selection of the repertoire. Of 20 proposed songs, 14 were selected and finally he decided to record 11 songs, in order to obtain a better diffusion of most of the subjects, leaving the others in reserve for future productions.
The title song of the CD deals with a prohibited love and is presented in an excellent salsa arrangement by Alain. Lusafrica chose to use a title that can be translated to different languages and it's meaning will be understood in any market and at the same time will be one of the favorite songs of the consumers. Nine songs are unpublished, another is a version of La Titi Mania by Juan Formell and there is also a ballad Amarla a Usted by Brazilian Caetano Veloso.
Musical production was by Alain Pérez.
Alain Pérez, who was part of Issac's orchestra for several years as bassist annd arranger, was in charge of the arrangements (9 songs). The remaining two songs were arranged by Jose Lugo of Puerto Rico who also works as producer and arranger for Gilberto Santa Rosa and other Puerto Rican salseros.
The percussion (timbal, congas, bongo and minor percussion) was played by the Venezuelan musicians Robert Quintero and Luis Quintero, who have worked with Oscar D' Leon, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Luis Enrique, La India and other salseros known in the international market.
